The ACM Committee for Computing Education in Community Colleges (CCECC) has recently released their new Cybersecurity Curricular Guidance for Associate-Degree Programs (Cyber2yr2020). The purpose of the guidance is to help community colleges who are looking to build or update their Cybersecurity programs.
These guidelines are based on ACM’s CSEC2017 guidelines for 4-year programs, with additional influence from the CAE-CD 2Y 2019 knowledge units (requirements of the NSA and DHS National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense) and the NICE cybersecurity workforce framework.
The competencies and learning outcomes set forth in the Cybersecurity Curricular Framework guidelines can be used for a variety of purposes including:
- Conducting program reviews to update and create curriculum
- Facilitating program and course articulation
- Complying with government-sponsored frameworks
- Interacting with local advisory boards
