Cybersecurity Dual Enrollment Pathway at Cypress College

Cypress College is developing a K-12 dual enrollment pathway to educate high school students in the field of cybersecurity. Students who complete the program will earn certifications qualifying them for entry-level jobs in this field and can also take advantage of Cypress College’s partnership with CSU Fullerton and UC Irvine. Henry Hua, Dean of Business and CIS and Stephanie Teer, Director of Dual Enrollment will share how they structured this program and considerations for colleges also interested in cybersecurity dual enrollment.

Exploring the ICT Disciplines: Which ICT Career is for you?

While Computer Science is the best-known of all ICT-related majors, many colleges and universities also offer degrees in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, (Management) Information Systems, Information Technology, and, more recently, Cybersecurity. Each ICT discipline has its own Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics requirements, but many employers will accept degrees from any of these disciplines for typical IT jobs. Learn more about which disciplines may provide the best alternatives for students from all populations.

BIW Dual Enrollment at Cerro Coso College

Looking for dual enrollment inspiration for your Business Information Worker program? Come learn how Cerro Coso College is having success bringing BIW curriculum to high school students. Karen O’Connor will share how their faculty package the syllabi and online courses for delivery to the high school instructors. So far more than 12 students have graduated from high school with the college’s 12-unit certificate as well!

The California Community College Chancellor’s Office, through its Vision for Success website, provides access to free video trainings produced by Skillsoft and LinkedIn Learning. For instructors teaching IT/Cybersecurity courses there are literally hundreds of useful video classes you can take.
