Regional Director Employer Engagement for the ICT & Digital Media Sector, Susanne Mata, hosted the Regional 2021 California Mayors Cyber Cup (CMCC) March 13, 2021 in partnership with the Inland Empire Desert Regional Consortia, SynED, Moreno Valley Unified School District and Riverside County Office of Education.
The regional cyber competition was planned as part of the Strong Workforce Program (SWP) Inland Empire Cyber Hub Centers Project to help build cybersecurity awareness, promote cyber jobs and to build strong partnerships throughout the region among business leaders, educators and the community.
As a new feature this year, daily “Live@5” events were held each evening from March 8-12 leading up to competition day on March 13. These virtual presentations featured speakers from local businesses, academia, government and the cybersecurity industry. Nearly 100 members of the community attended each evening to learn about cybersecurity in general, careers in this field, and how to get started on the region’s cybersecurity career pathway.
