With an eye toward the post-COVID future, an ICT Regional Workforce Advisory in the Greater Sacramento Region recently met to discuss how artificial intelligence and data analytics is shaping the world of Information, Communication and Technology. The meeting was hosted by Valley Vision and included a panel discussion with several local employers:

- Suman Sehra, Global Director, IOT Smart Cities & Intelligent Transportation, Intel
- Harsh Verma, Chairman, ACM Sacramento Chapter, Intel IOT Advisory Board Member
- Gabe Youtsey, Chief Innovation Officer, UC Agriculture and Natural Resources
“It was a great opportunity to discuss labor market trends and occupations and the future of AI,” said Cornelius Brown, ICT-DM Regional Director in the Greater Sacramento Region. “Faculty and employers were able to have meaningful discussions concerning ways to integrate real-world experiences, changes, and updates to existing and new curriculum.”
Cosumnes River College Professor, Dr. Markus Geissler discussed feedback concerning previous curriculum review actions. And Jared Amalong, the Director of Computer Science and Distance Learning for SCOE discussed AI initiatives occurring at the K-12 level within the Sacramento region.
