September 11, 2020
The shortage of cybersecurity professionals is being addressed at the statewide level by the California Cybersecurity Task Force, co-chaired by the California Department of Technology (CDT) and the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES).
Dr. Keith Clement of California State University, Fresno, chairs the Workforce Development and Education Subcommittee with the mission of developing and implementing a California Cybersecurity Career Education Pipeline and Pathway Project. This exciting project will include K-12, community colleges and universities to build a robust career pipeline/pathway in California. They are working hard to assist in the development of:
1. Cybersecurity model curriculum
2. Extra-curricular activities
3. Cyber competitions
4. Apprenticeships
5. Professional/career development opportunities
Dr. Clement will share the progress this committee has made and how your students can participate in this much-needed career pathway.
